Meeting on consumer price statistics held at the State Data Agency
On 20–21 May, a meeting on consumer price statistics was held within the framework of the Baltic Cooperation Plan, with the participation of specialists from the statistical authorities of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
The meeting discussed the current issues related to the transition to the new Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP 2018), the establishment of weights for the calculation of consumer price indices, the use of the new price data sources, the comparison of the prices of consumer services, and the implementation of the provisions of the new Regulation.
The meeting also covered the possibilities of compiling price indices for commercial real estate and integrating owner-occupied housing price index into the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), as well as sharing good practices in the use of software for the calculation of consumer price indices.
