Public consultations: actions carried out by state institutions and bodies in various ways (methods), aimed at gathering opinions of the public or target groups, proposals for a legal act being drafted, implemented or evaluated, or another type of decision.

There are currently no ongoing consultations.

Public consultation on official statistics envisaged for 2024

State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) invites the public to familiarize themselves with the draft Official Statistics Programme 2024 Part I. The Official Statistics Program is an annual list of statistical surveys required by the legal acts of the European Union, laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania to perform official statistics for public needs and public administration.

Statistical surveys provided for in the draft Official Statistics Programme 2024 Part I will be carried out by the State Data Agency and 18 other institutions managing official statistics. The Programme envisages conducting about 290 statistical surveys, which are divided into five areas: demographic and social statistics, macroeconomic statistics, business statistics, agriculture, forestry and fisheries statistics, other statistical domains.

In 2024, in addition to the annual statistical surveys, the following statistical surveys will be conducted:

• new - "Equality statistics";

• carried out every few years - "Use of plant protection products in agriculture" and "Use of information technologies in state and municipal administration institutions";

• one-off/single - "Youth in the labor market and acquired education", "Fuel and energy consumption in households" and "Possibilities of residents to use services".

In 2024, preparations will begin for the 2025 population census, which is planned to be carried out annually.
