We Invite You to Submit Proposals for the 2027 Official Statistics Programme

The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) invites the public to review the draft Part I of the 2027 Official Statistics Programme and submit proposals regarding the official statistics planned to be produced in 2027.

The Official Statistics Programme is an annual list of statistical surveys required for public needs and public administration. The statistical surveys included in the programme are carried out by the State Data Agency and other institutions responsible for official statistics.

The draft 2027 programme provides for approximately 290 statistical surveys to be conducted. These will be carried out by the State Data Agency and 15 other institutions responsible for official statistics.

The planned statistical surveys cover 5 main areas:

  • demographic and social statistics;
  • macroeconomic statistics;
  • business statistics;
  • agriculture, forestry and fisheries statistics;
  • statistics in other areas.

What data and statistical indicators does society need?

“Official statistics should be produced not only to comply with legal requirements, but also to reflect the real information needs of society, businesses, academia, and the public sector. Users’ proposals help us better understand how these needs are changing and assess what data or more detailed statistical indicators may be required in the future”, notes Dr Jūratė Petrauskienė, Director General of the State Data Agency.

We invite residents, as well as representatives of businesses, academia, the public sector, and other organisations to share their views and submit proposals regarding statistical indicators, their level of detail, dimensions, or other relevant aspects.

The proposals received will be evaluated in accordance with the requirements of the applicable legislation, data availability, and financial resources.

We welcome proposals until 31 August 2026.

Please send your proposals by email to [email protected].
