Vilnius to Become the World Statistics Capital: Call for Papers for the 20th IAOS Conference
From May 12 to 14, 2026, Vilnius will become a global meeting place for data and statistics professionals as it hosts the 20th International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) Conference. The event is organized by IAOS in collaboration with the State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania).
This year’s Conference theme is “Navigating the Data Revolution: Innovations and Impact in Modern Statistics”. The event will explore how, in a rapidly changing data landscape, innovations, technologies, and advanced methods help generate new insights, strengthen decision-making, and foster interdisciplinary breakthroughs.
Challenges and Opportunities of the Data Revolution
Today, data is being generated faster and on a larger scale than ever before. This opens up not only new opportunities but also presents challenges for experts in statistics, data science, and public policy. The 2026 IAOS Conference aims to be a platform where the global community can share best practices, the latest research, and ideas on how to use data more effectively for the advancement of society.
Call for Proposals
The Call for Proposals is now open. Researchers, experts, and practitioners are invited to submit proposals in the following formats:
- Invited Paper Sessions (IPS) – submissions accepted until 15 December 2025
- Contributed Paper Sessions (CPS) and poster presentations – submissions accepted until 19 January 2026
We invite you to contribute to this global discussion by presenting your research, practical solutions, or innovative ideas related to statistical methods, data quality, data ethics, artificial intelligence, open data, and other relevant topics.

IAOS conferences traditionally bring together hundreds of participants from various countries – from official statistics institutions to academia and representatives of international organizations.
