The State Data Agency was visited by the representatives of the Employment Services of the Western Balkans

Today, the State Data Agency hosted a visit of the representatives of the Employment Services of the Western Balkans. The purpose of the visit to Lithuania was to gain knowledge on labour market forecasting.

The Head of the Living Standard and Employment Statistics Division Inga Daunoravičienė presented the structure of the Lithuanian statistical system and of the Agency, as well as the surveys carried out by the Living Standard and Employment Statistics Division. The main focus was on the Labour Force Survey, its methods and data collection.

The purpose of the Survey is to assess the number of employed and unemployed persons, their distribution by age, sex, place of residence, economic activity, main occupational group, education, activity rate, employment and unemployment rate. The Survey is carried out on a quarterly basis.

The Head of the State Data Governance Group Vadimas Ivanovas told the delegates more about the functions of the Agency, regulatory changes and data governance. The importance of the state data and use thereof for monitoring and analysing the country’s economic and social development was highlighted.

Participants discussed the progress of the state data inventory, best practices in the use of data in the development of various solutions, data security aspects, and other issues.
