The public is invited to provide feedback on the preparation of official statistics for the upcoming year
The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) invites the public to review Part I of the Draft Official Statistics Programme for 2026. The Official Statistics Programme is an annual list of statistical surveys required for public needs and public administration, assigned to institutions responsible for official statistics by European Union legislation, the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
The statistical surveys outlined in Part I of the Draft Official Statistics Programme for 2026 will be carried out by the State Data Agency and 14 other institutions responsible for official statistics. The programme foresees around 284 statistical surveys, grouped into five areas: demographic and social statistics, macroeconomic statistics, business statistics, agriculture, forestry and fisheries statistics, and statistics in other fields.
In addition to the annual statistical surveys, the following surveys will be conducted in 2026:
- new surveys: “Employment on digital platforms”, “Population over-indebtedness, consumption and assets”, “Non-financial indicators of commercial real estate”, “Work and family life balance”, “Energy and environment”;
- periodically conducted surveys: “Household budget survey” and “Structure of earnings”.
We invite you to share your opinions and suggestions regarding the official statistics planned for 2026: including indicators, their dimensions, territorial levels, dissemination methods, etc. Taking into account financial possibilities and the applicable legal framework, we will consider the feasibility of implementing the submitted proposals. We welcome your suggestions by 8 August by email [email protected].
