Representatives of the State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) Participated in the EU Council TRIO Handover Event
On 17 June, Dr Jūratė Petrauskienė, Director General of the State Data Agency, Daiva Jurelevičienė, First Deputy Director General, and Rugilė Andrejevskytė, Head of the European Affairs and International Cooperation Division, participated in the EU Council TRIO Presidency handover event.
At the meeting, representatives from Poland, Denmark, and Cyprus reviewed the work carried out during their presidency period, shared their experience, and discussed the results achieved. Meanwhile, representatives of the upcoming TRIO – Ireland, Lithuania, and Greece – presented their preparations for the presidency and main priorities, while the European Commission introduced the planned legislative initiatives.
From July 2026 to December 2027, the EU Council will be successively presided over by Ireland, Lithuania, and Greece. Lithuania is actively preparing for this period, with particular attention to developments in the field of statistics.
“Significant changes are expected in the field of statistics, therefore, Lithuania will seek constructive dialogue in the EU Council Working Party on Statistics”, noted Daiva Jurelevičienė, First Deputy Director General.
