March 11 Questionnaire “Only the Free Grow Big”
On 11 March 2026, we mark the 36th anniversary of the Restoration of Lithuania’s Independence – a date symbolising the freedom of the state, the strength of democracy, and every person’s opportunity to shape their own future. Over these decades, Lithuania has consistently grown, strengthened, and modernised, and this change is clearly reflected in official statistical indicators.
The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) has prepared an interactive dashboard – the questionnaire “Only the Free Grow Big”, which presents key indicators of demographics, migration, tourism, culture, and employment.
You can find the link to the questionnaire here.
Over the 36 years of independence, Lithuania has undergone significant changes that reflect the continuous growth in quality of life and people’s well‑being. Increasing life expectancy, declining crime rates, and a strengthening healthcare system demonstrate that we are living in a safer and more mature society.
Economic development, growing investment, and returning emigrants highlight the country’s increasing attractiveness on the international stage. More and more people are discovering opportunities to study, create, develop businesses, and pursue ambitious goals in the fields of science, culture, and sports.
Data presented in the dashboard offer a statistical perspective on these changes – objective, evidence‑based, and systematic. Each statement in the questionnaire encourages not only recalling facts but also reflecting on the path we have taken from 1990 to today.
The questionnaire is designed to be not only informative but also engaging. Test your knowledge.
The latest indicators and detailed statistical information can be found in the Database of Indicators on the Official Statistics Portal.
The State Data Agency invites everyone to use open and reliable data that help to understand the country’s development, support informed decision‑making, and shape a vision for the future.
Freedom has given the people of Lithuania the opportunity to create a better life. The achievements reached show that we are moving in the direction of consistent growth and strengthening. 11 March is an excellent occasion to acknowledge this progress, and statistics are a reliable way to demonstrate it.
