Ongoing international projects

EU Twinning project “Strengthening the capacity of the Department of Statistics (DoS) in Jordan”  

Duration: September 2022 (24 months, 6 months extension)  

Participating Institutions: Lead Institution: Statistics Denmark, Junior Project Partners:  the State Data Agency (Lithuania), the Italian National Institute of Statistics, the Federal Statistical Office (Germany). Statistics Finland supports the project by providing experts for the missions.  

Project objectives:  

1. To strengthen and develop Jordan’s business and population statistics in line with best international practice through the incorporation of administrative data sources. 

2. To enhance DoS statistical outputs by developing new policy-oriented statistics and updating and strengthening current methodologies, particularly for survey-based data.   

Experts from the State Data Agency will take part in the missions on these topics:  

• Population statistics;  

• Administrative data integration;  

• Development of an address register;   

• Small area estimation;   

• Security of statistical information;  

• Use of the R. 

EU Twinning Project “Enhancing the quality of the statistical system in Cambodia” 

Duration: May 2024 (duration 30 months plus 3 months for project closure)   

Participating Institutions: Lead Institution: the Italian National Institute of Statistics, Junior Project Partners: the State Data Agency (Lithuania), the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (France) and Statistics Poland.  

Objective of the project:  

To improve the National Statistical System (NSS) of Cambodia through strengthening the institutional capacity of the National Institute of Statistics (NIS) for collecting, processing and disseminating statistical products. 

The State Data Agency is responsible for managing Component 3 - upgrading of the staff training system. 

Experts from the State Data Agency will take part in the missions on these topics:  

• Strengthening the quality of the NIS organisational system (finance, human resources, performance management, etc.);  

• Working procedures, methods/tools, including memoranda of understanding, protocols, platforms for data sharing/exchange within NSS; 

• Statistical dissemination and communication;  

• Developing of training programmes and manuals; 

• Specific training for NIS staff and NIS counterparts. 

IPA 2022 Consultations for Bosnia and Herzegovina statisticians on business registry

Duration: July 2024–December 2027  

During the period 2024–2027, the State Data Agency will consult BiH statisticians on business register issues under the EU–funded project – the IPA 2022 Multi-beneficiary Statistical Cooperation Programme implemented by the ICON-Institute (Germany). 

EU-funded project “Second Joint Action Towards the European Health Data Space”

Duration: May 2024–December 2026

With a subsidy from the European Union, the project “Second Joint Action Towards the European Health Data Space” involves 29 European countries, coordinated by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund. The said project aims to harmonise the secondary use of health data by creating a common legal framework. During the project, the State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) will share good practices on secondary use of health data.
