EU Twinning project “Strengthening the capacity of the Department of Statistics (DoS) in Jordan”  

Duration: September 2022 (24 months, 6 months extension)  

Participating Institutions: Lead Institution: Statistics Denmark, Junior Project Partners:  the State Data Agency (Lithuania), the Italian National Institute of Statistics, the Federal Statistical Office (Germany). Statistics Finland supports the project by providing experts for the missions.  

Project objectives:  

1. To strengthen and develop Jordan’s business and population statistics in line with best international practice through the incorporation of administrative data sources. 

2. To enhance DoS statistical outputs by developing new policy-oriented statistics and updating and strengthening current methodologies, particularly for survey-based data.   

Experts from the State Data Agency will take part in the missions on these topics:  

• Population statistics;  

• Administrative data integration;  

• Development of an address register;   

• Small area estimation;   

• Security of statistical information;  

• Use of the R.
