Data on the protection objectives of “Natura 2000” territories has been opened
Data collection of the State Service for Protected Areas under the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania on the protection objectives of “Natura 2000” territories has been opened on the Lithuanian Open Data Portal.
When establishing the "Natura 2000" network in Lithuania and ensuring protection of its values, habitats and species protected in accordance with the EU Habitats and Birds Directives are inventoried, the condition of their habitats is determined, areas important for their protection are distinguished, and specific protection objectives are set for them following the criteria of favorable protection status for habitats and species of Community importance.
Protection objectives are set to define as precisely as possible the desired state or level of conservation to be achieved in a given area. Objectives are established for each habitat type and species present in the territory.
The State Data Agency (Statistics Lithuania) implements the project "Integration of State Information Resources into the Data Lake", which is financed by the Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility Plan "New Generation Lithuania" and the State budget of Lithuania.
